In recognition of the courage, resilience, and advocacy of the brave and conscious women of Afghanistan, who, following the tragic events of August 15, 2021, and the occupation of the country by the Taliban, raised the banner of justice and freedom, we — the Guardians of the North Movement — organized a cultural and supportive event on December 19, 2024, in Islamabad, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in collaboration with a number of cultural organizations, to honor the rich cultural heritage of our homeland and celebrate Yalda Night, the symbol of light, endurance, and hope in the face of darkness.
During this cultural gathering, the role and steadfastness of Afghanistan’s justice-seeking women in the struggle for citizens’ rights and social justice were acknowledged and appreciated. A number of brave and justice-oriented women, who have stood fearlessly against oppression and discrimination, were honored with the Statue of Courage, presented by our movement.
Through this event, the Guardians of the North Movement once again reaffirms its commitment to human, cultural, and justice-based values, and firmly believes that the light of awareness, equality, and freedom shall never be extinguished under the shadow of tyranny.
